Here at Lou's Cake Art we offer Custom Designed Cakes and Cupcakes for all of your event needs. From a small gathering of 10 people to large events of a few hundred guests, we can help meet your needs with custom planning and designing. We even offer trays of bite sized treats including but not limited to mini cupcakes and a variety of cookies and dessert bars. We are NOT a retail location but rather an in home cottage bakery business. We are currently 'By Order" only. Please use the inquiry button, call, or text to place your order.
Meet Lou
Hey guys! I am from Caledonia, MS and live with my husband, Steve, and three dachshunds, Bruno, Cooper, and Slinky. We have recently moved to Crestview, FL, Steve's hometown, to be near family and enjoy everything the panhandle has to offer!
A mom to two boys, a bonus son, and grandma to one grandson, I've made lots of fun birthday cakes. From a young age I have liked different aspects of art and design. Coloring, sketching, creating little paper crafts, painting, and ceramics were a few of the things I experimented with growing up. After high school and having two little boys, I earned my degree in Drafting and Design Technology.
In 2009 I moved from Mississippi to Ohio. While there I was a stay at home mom, doing all the fun boy things like football, soccer, baseball, and even orchestra and choir. Of course, making homemade birthday cakes and cupcakes was a requirement. When my youngest boy started middle school, I decided to expand on my skills by taking a job at a local bakery. There I had a team of ladies to help guide and teach me. Learning not only decorating skills but also baker skills, I found a love for this world.
Life took me back home to Mississippi in 2022, and finally to Florida in 2024. My day job is spent as an insurance agent, helping customers from all walks of life. My night life consists of mostly caking!
Creating beautiful, fun, crazy, glamorous, unique, tasty pieces of edible art is my passion. It's such an amazing feeling to create happiness and see the smiles, joy, and excitement on people's faces. Not all art should last forever. Sometimes art is meant to be eaten!
